Transition Years

In 2002, Chinook began creating digital resources for education clients. Our clients came to us because they want innovative, research-driven exemplars that demonstrated best practice for delivering education resources.

This rich intellectual environment fueled our imaginations, while also helping us to develop and hone our project management, instructional design, and programming skills. Our client list grew (see Our Clients), as did our portfolio of completed projects. We also began to develop our own online software applications.

The first of these was our own Chinook Management System (CMS). The first such system in the world to integrate Flash for the front end, MySQL for the back end, and PHP for scripting, CMS also served as a development platform for XML-based interactives and learning objects and as both a development platform and back end for Flash or HTML Web sites.
