The recently launched Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (ESO) and Winspear Centre websites are important benchmarks in our Edmonton web design business. The ESO and Winspear sites take full advantage of Chinook Multimedia's content management system.
A versatile, full-featured calendar and event management system was the key requirement for the client. The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and Winspear Centre need to publish events to either or both websites (a third website is also planned for development).
Chinook Multimedia's custom content management system delivered the solution. Not only can the same event be published to either or both websites, but it can also later be edited for each site. Our content management system also enabled us to integrate the "ESOblog" and further expand the ESO and Winspear's already strong use of social media.
Our content management system also facilitates search engine optimization, a crucial strength for marketing the new websites. We developed a custom search-engine-friendly (SEF) URL system for the websites.

Challenges
These websites are an important addition to our Edmonton web design portfolio. We designed the two websites to reflect the unique cultures of each institution. The same intuitive navigation system provides a familiar environment for users of both websites.
Many Edmonton Symphony Orchestra events take place in the Winspear Centre. To eliminate the need to copy and manage these events on the two websites, we adapted our calendar and event management systems to enable the publishing of each event to one or multiple websites.
