Description
The NHPC required a sophisticated new website that would include e-Learning modules, advanced event management, and a shopping mall. The e-Learning modules would be housed in a "Centre for Learning," which would also include webinars, workshops, DVDs, etc. The shoppinng mall concept (called the Markeplace) would have separate "stores" for e-Learning products, member products and services, and third party products and services, as well as kiosks for jobs and classifieds. Members had to be able to use the same login as on a private association business website. Member login would provide access to members-only resources and discounts in the Marketplace.
Challenges
The NHPC required a number of customized solutions for its particular needs. We customized our event management system to handle NHPC and third party events, with online registration for select NHPC events. The registration system monitors capacity and notifies NHPC before capacity is reached. Our learning management system includes information and quiz capability with auto-saving of learner answers and auto-marking of results. In addition to enabling users to purchase NHPC or third party products (including e-Learning resources and practitioner products), the Marketplace has separate "stores" for services providers, jobs, and classifieds, It also features a Member-to-Member section where NHPC members can create and manage their own stores. Access to members-only resources and member discounts is handled through login. Customized reports enable the NHPC to quickly monitor all website systems.
