Edmonton e-Learning developer Chinook Multimedia has created e-Learning storyboards for clients across Canada and for audiences that range in age from very young children to adults and in subject matter from alphabetizing skills to police procedures.
E-Learning (or computer based training) includes web-based training and training delivered on CD-ROMs and DVDs. E-Learning storyboarding requires an understanding of interaction design, learner engagement strategies, accessibility measures, and assessment measures. Creating storyboard content includes authoring and editing text content, selecting or creating appropriate media items, and verifying content accuracy. The storyboard must also provide accurate instructions for programmers.
As a result, e-Learning storyboarding may require the services of project managers, subject matter experts, instructional designers, graphic designers, illustrators, authors, and editors all working together in a collaborative effort. Some clients have these qualified personnel available in-house, while others ask us to provide some or all resources. Although experienced in all of these areas, we always use external subject matter experts.
