Alberta e-Learning developer Chinook Multimedia can help you design your web-based training or e-Learning project.
The first stage in designing an e-Learning product is to fully understand your goals, subject matter, intended audience(s), desired learning outcomes, and assessment requirements. To learn more about how Chinook Multimedia approaches this planning stage, see
Consulting/E-Learning Design.
Once a plan is in place, the next step in the design process is to begin laying out what the learning product will look like. We create wireframe drawings of all major pages based on the information contained in the storyboard. The drawings illustrate page layouts and menu systems that reflect your information and communication priorities. The wireframe drawings also provide you with a visual check on our understanding of your project goals before dollars are committed to the graphical user interface (GUI) and programming.
The last stage of the design process is to create a GUI that captures the subject matter, engages the target audience(s), and facilitates usability. For most projects, we create two to three GUI concepts and then fully develop the one the client chooses. Following acceptance of this basic template GUI, we design the GUI for each type of page.
