Simulations

Chinook Multimedia has created several simulations, including the first online, interactive RPG game to use a Shockwave RPG engine, which we built in Director. In this experimental RPG game, the camera hovers in a 3rd person or 1st person perspective. Objects inside the world can be clickable, bringing up a data that can be database driven. The engine allows a huge amount of data and feedback, which helps to create a truly dynamic 3D experience. Flash was integrated into the game to deliver certain content elements.

Other experiences include the creation of Flash simulations featuring

• a constructivist framework simulating real world decision making in many different contexts and with different outcomes
• content stored and accessed from XML files or database backend for delivery of the game on CD-ROM or over the Internet or on CD-ROM
• small files sizes for quick loading of all elements
• integration of illustrations with photographs and interactive media (animated maps, animated media)
• save code
• bilingual resources
• inclusion of clickable glossary terms
• simulations based on real world variables, information, data, and scenarios driven by player choices
